She beats to the breath of the earth, 2017, Blue stone mud, plywood and steel, 300 x 90 x 20 cm, Soli Sol Soli, La Maison de Arts, Schaerbeek, Brussels – © Isabelle Arthuis

These sculptures are made out of organic and industrial waste. The effect of acid on blue stone mud fashions sections of moon-like volcanic landscapes, at the beginning or the end of time, after a cataclysm. While retaining the weight of the stone, the clay has become crumbly.
